Cookie Policy

This page explains how MisterEtec uses cookies and similar technologies on www.misteretec.com — what we use them for, who else can set them, how long they last, and how you can control them.
1) What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files that your browser stores on your device. Related technologies such as local storage, tags, pixels and mobile SDKs do similar jobs. Together they let us recognise your device, keep you signed in, remember your cart, and understand how the site is being used.
2) Why we use them
- Essential operations: secure login, cart, checkout, session continuity and fraud prevention.
- Preferences: language, delivery location, wishlist and recently viewed items.
- Performance and analytics: aggregated information about pages viewed, load times and feature usage, so we can fix and improve the site.
- Advertising and measurement: showing relevant offers and measuring whether our advertising works, including limiting how often you see the same message.
3) Categories we set
- Essential — required for the site to work. These cannot be switched off from within our systems, though your browser can block them (which will break login and checkout).
- Functional — remember your settings and choices.
- Analytics — usage metrics that help us understand and improve performance.
- Advertising — support relevant promotions and frequency capping.
4) First-party and third-party technologies
First-party cookies are set by our own domain and support the operation of the store. In addition, the following third parties currently set cookies or similar technologies when you use our site:
- Google Tag Manager — loads and manages the tags listed below.
- Google Analytics — aggregated usage and performance measurement.
- Google Ads — advertising measurement and conversion tracking.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — advertising measurement and audience reporting.
These load when you use the site. You can switch the analytics and advertising ones off using the browser and provider controls in section 6. They set and read their own cookies under their own privacy terms, and we do not control their settings. If we add or remove a provider we will update this list. Our payment gateway and logistics partners may also set technologies strictly needed to complete a payment or a delivery lookup.
5) How long they last
Some cookies are session-based and are removed when you close your browser. Others are persistent and remain until they expire or you delete them. Typical lifetimes range from a few minutes to 13 months, depending on the purpose and on your browser or device settings.
6) Your choices and controls
- Browser controls are the way to switch these off today. An on-site cookie preference control has been built and is being rolled out. Until it is live we would rather say so plainly than point you at a setting you cannot reach.
- Browser settings. Every major browser also lets you block or delete cookies, including third-party cookies specifically. Blocking essential cookies will stop login, cart and checkout from working.
- Device and browser privacy features such as tracking prevention or “Do Not Track” can also limit these technologies. Behaviour varies between vendors.
- Opting out at the provider: you can opt out of Google advertising personalisation at adssettings.google.com and manage Meta ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
7) Data use and security
We use information derived from cookies to run, secure and improve the website and to present relevant content. Where that information is personal data, it is handled as described in our Privacy Policy, which also sets out retention periods and your rights of access, correction and deletion.
8) Updates to this page
We may revise this page to reflect changes in technology, regulation or our own practices, including changes to the list of third parties in section 4. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
